Oct 2023 New Dock Completed!

Hi neighbors, 

I am coming to you with some wonderful news! The community dock that we all have been longing to see updated has officially been COMPLETED! 

I want to first start by singing continual praises to the dock committee. We are all so grateful for the hard work and dedication this group has put in to bringing this project to the finish line. If you see them around the neighborhood, please be sure to thank them for all that they have done! We could not have done it without them!

This topic has been an ongoing conversation for years, but we truly began making headway in April this year. September 2nd, 2023 marked the beginning of the tear down and we are elated to say that the inspections from Montgomery County were completed Oct 23rd, 2023 and we are officially back up and operational. 

I am truly amazed and inspired by the support both financially and physically from all of our fellow neighbors. Without each and every one of your contributions we would not have been able to make this happen, and in a relatively short amount of time. I think I speak for all of the DSCA board when I say thank you for all that you did (and do) to support this cause. We believe this project will be the catalyst for many projects to come in our continual improvement of the community. 

 As a review, here is how the cost breakdown went for this build. Again, without Ivy, Jim and Jon this would have cost us MUCH more in labor! Thank you for helping us keep our costs low!

  Some neighbors have expressed interest in a celebration party to mark the completion of this monumental project. The board and I are in discussions about the logistics and best timing with the holidays in mind. Be on the lookout for an additional email update with more details on this celebration.
